Tunnel, Picture Challenge by Sam
I was walking with my friend Derek in my beautiful garden in the dead of night. I was enjoying the scenery when I tripped over a rock. As I tripped, I had unveiled a dark, mysterious hole. Derek and I looked down the long, dark hole and decided to plummet into its depths. We found a piece of rope in my garden shed and tied it to a tree.
I asked him “ Who wants to go first?”
He said, “Ladies first.”
I laughed and said, “Ha ha now that’s real gentleman,”and he laughed at my little joke.
I went down first and Derek shortly followed and we looked around at the bottom of the deep hole but there was nothing but dirt and a peculiar looking, perfectly square rock. We looked around more and we saw a little piece of paper that was nailed to the dirt wall that said, “Whoever wants to take a test step on the rock to be the best.” Derek and I stared at the rock, but I hesitated a little. Though I gathered my strength and jumped on it with Derek… A secret door opened and we both stepped in it. It was a empty room except there was a golden vase resting on a podium. Inlaid with thousands of jewels, but drenched in cobwebs
Derek and I went over to the vase and looked at it carefully. We decided to try to take the vase. We swiped the vase and tried to run to the door although it didn’t work. The secret door closed in on us and as did the walls. The room kept getting smaller and smaller. Derek and I were scared out of our minds. Our life was ending and no one would know that we died. We would be a whisper in the wind forever.
