Student Blogging Challenge #4 Activity 5-Bastien

Ok, I am going to talk about some things related to being safe on the internet and making all the right choices. My name is Bastien, and I am doing a challenge called week 4 digital footprint on the student blog, There are 5 Activities I chose activity 5. What happens in activity 5 is, writing things you would recommend doing on the internet to a younger audience.

The internet is probably one of the most dangerous tools in the world, and one of the most useful. It can be used for many bad things and many good things, some of the bad things it is used for are, abuse to children and adults, viruses and trackers, and many others. Some of the good and useful things are, research for schools, communication websites (used safely), and learning many interesting things. The internet is very useful but must be used with care handled with safety.

Computers/Laptops are wonderful tools and great inventions. They, as any online mechanical device can be hacked and programed by other device users. There are ways to block malicious programs and viruses, and keep your computer safe and be responsible with them.

One For The Murphys – HEROES! – By Bastien

In One for the Murphys, I believe there are two main heroes for me. They are, Carley and Mrs. Murphy. To me Carley is very brave because she took care of Adam and stayed strong when Michel Erik had a seizure. She was strong when Denis beat her, and there are many other times to be found. Mrs. Murphy is a hero because she stood up for Carley in many ways, like she helped her when the police came over. She trusted Carly when Michel Erik had the seizure, helped her kids stay in good moods and convinced Carley to come home when she ran away. She is very nice too, as she brought Carley to go shopping for school clothes, and gave her an Easter basket filled with things Carley liked. These two characters have big parts to play in this story and will help each other a lot.

Bastien, Time for a break, Challenge 3

In this challenge I played a game called Third world farmer. In this game the goal is you have to make the most crops and the most money you can in a certain amount of time. I did not do a very good job and I was a little bit confused at first. I chose this game pretty randomly, I found while I was roaming around on time for a break.

As I started the game I was trying to figure out what to do, I looked around the map and saw in the corner a shop. I clicked and a whole list of things you could buy to make your better were right there. Wheat, chickens, dogs, sheds ext, were the sort of things you could find in the shop. You could buy a phone and a computer and some other mechanical devices.

To get money you would have to sell crops you have and you can get bonuses from donation. In the beginning you start of with a certain amount of money like 20$ to buy your first crops. I enjoyed the game and worked hard to get my best score and to understand it more than I did.

Scary Story – Bastien

Nini was in her classroom. All Nini’s classmates were tidying up to end the day. Before she left, she and her classmates each received a doll and got to name it. Nini named her doll Lilith. Different than the other dolls, Lilith had red button eyes and the others had purple and pink colored eyes. Long after the buses had driven away, Nini stood alone waiting for her parents for a long time.

As it started to get dark, Nini could hear the owls calling from the tall dark oak trees. She worried when she heard the church bell ring for 5:00pm. She tried not to be scared but suddenly, she heard sounds behind the school. Being curious she went to go look. She started to get scared in the dark so she started going a little faster and faster, and before she knew it she was running. It started to get fogy. Nini was very scared now she wanted to go home, she was so caught up in the thought she dropped her doll she tried to find it but it was too foggy, so she walked on.

She suddenly saw a shape and realized it was a little shack. She walked toward the small hut, and saw a little flicker of light in it. She ran to it and opened the door. She looked around, and suddenly she saw blood all over the floor. Her doll was sitting in a chair turning her head to look at Nini. She screamed and ran as fast as she could. She looked back and saw her doll following. Nini was crying, but ran on hoping to see her parents. The doll was so close as she ran and then she felt a sharp pain through her leg. NIna fell and saw her doll right behind her and then…

Summer By Bastien

In my summer I have enjoyed a lot of things, one of the times I enjoyed was when I went canyoning in a river in France called Le Loup. This river is about twenty minutes from my house, I have been going to this river since I was a baby. The way I found out about the canyoning was when I was walking to the river from my car and we past a store that was advertising canyoning and we signed up right away. Canyoning is when you walk climb jump and swim through a canyon created by a river. I went with a friend and my brother and a guide took us through the canyon. It is super important to have a guide because you could slip on rock and seriously injure yourself or possibly die. Another reason to have a guide is because he knows all the good and beautiful spots you can jump.

We jumped off a lot of high cliffs into very cold water. Every time I would jump of a high cliff my stomach would feel weird, and every time I made contact with the water I would feel really good that I did the jumps. We went on river slides too, they were very exciting, my favorite one was when we went into a waterfall as we slid into mid air and landed in the water.

After all that fun canyoning we went home and relaxed, the rest of the day because I was so tired I couldn’t move my legs. After all the wonderful things we did that day we enjoyed the rest of our afternoon with good memories of what we did.
