HOLIDAY CELEBRATION – Eamonn

Over the holidays I usually just hang around my house until Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve my family and I decorate anything that can be and then watch Christmas movies. Then we go to bed and wait. I usually get up in the middle of the night because I get bored of waiting so I go and  see if anything is under the tree. If there isn’t I go back to bed, and if there is I go and sit in my bed and think of an excuse to get the rest of my family up without getting yelled at and delaying them even longer. Then I give up and just run into the room and do anything that I have to to get them up.

Then after an half an hour of persuading they get up and we go into the living room. Then we start to open up the presents. I open one and then wait for my sister to open all of hers before continuing. I do this so that my Christmas lasts longer than hers. Then when all of the presents are opened and I am checking them out my mom makes breakfast. Then we get in the car and start “THE JOURNEY”.

After one hour in the car we get out at my uncle’s house. To me it is like a mansion with a pool. The first thing that we do is go into the living room and open the presents that my dad’s family has for my sister and I. This lasts about 45 minutes before all the presents are open and looked at. Then we go into the dining room and have yet another breakfast. Then we get into the car again and start “THE JOURNEY PART TWO” .

We head to my grandparents’ house down in Pennsylvania. By the time we get there it is already dinner time. This is the final stop on “THE JOURNEY” so we get to relax when we get there. We do the same thing like at my uncle’s except this time we don’t eat breakfast………….. …………we eat dinner. Then after spending the night at my grandparents we start, yet again, “THE JOURNEY PART THREE” witch is back to my house. When we get home I enjoy the last part of my break and check out all of my new stuff.

Week#4 Challenge#2

When I looked up my name on google I found that I have left a small but real digital footprint. Most of my digital footprint is based on my running. I think that so far my digital footprint is a positive one. I guess the reason that I do not have a big digital footprint is because I have not been using the computer for very long. So far I am only known for running professionally in all sorts of cross  country races that take place all over the United States of America. I think that by the end of the year I will have expanded my digital footprint with school and just by running even harder this year.

This is the website that I where I can be found:

CHALLENGE POST – Week #3 – BY Eamonn

Week#3 Tow and Country

For me I will always prefer the small town. My main reason is that in the city there is no woods or big spaces to go out and explore. In a small town you can have and do the exact opposite from what you can do in a city. For example, if you live in a small town the houses are a little bit apart which allows you to be a little louder then if you lived right above someone in an apartment building.

It is important to me that I can have a big place outside to do things that you can’t do in the city. If you were to live in the city for a long time you would learn that you can’t even go out at night in certain parts of the city unless you are with others or in a car. If you live in a small town you can stay outside and just hang out until you get tired, or just feel like going inside. In the city some people think that going to the park is like going out into the forest. If you are like me than you would know that going out to the park is not really being out in the woods. If is pretty much like being at cement piece of ground with things that you can play on.

If you like being part of a community and being surrounded by your neighbors then living in city is pry most ideal. If you like living near people but not being right on top of each other then living in a small town would most likely suit you. Living in the city allows you to have everything that you need in one building like a small laundromat and a small maling section so that all the mal that is delivered to the building. When you live out in small towns you either have to like going to the laundromat or have every thing that you need in your house.

All in all I would never like to live in the city, but I do like to visit the city.

ONE FOR THE MURPHYS – BY EAMONN

It looks like Mrs.Murphy and Carly are the heroes so far in this book. The reason that I say Mrs.Murphy is a hero is because she already has three boys and then she just came and took Carley in to the family. Anyone could have just left Carley and taken a child that they knew better or thought had a better background. Also she didn’t really get mad at Carley when she was going through some tough times and maybe being a little rude or ungrateful. In the end she is really nice person and can take a lot of things on at once. The reason that Carly is kind of a hero is even though she has just met these people, she has started taking the responsibility that Mrs.Murphy has offered to give to the other kids. The biggest thing that Carly has done so far in the book, is look after Adam, and Daniel when Michael Eric had the seizure. She seems to be warming up to the family and actually liking them.

My guess is that before the end of the book Carly will become the hero one more time. If she does it will make her feel like she has become a part of the family and finally accept them to the max.

SUMMER TIME!! By Eamonn

I did a lot of things over the summer but one of the best things was going down to the Jersey shore called Sea Isle City. On the second day at 8:30am I got up and ran a 5 kilometer race on a near-by beach called Ocean City. It rained right before the gun went off and it took me 18 minutes to do the race. I ended up winning the age group which was 14 and under. After that I just went to the beach and relaxed.

That was only the second day. For the rest of the week I kept active by riding twenty blocks every morning to get breakfast, or just to go to the other things that we were doing. It was exciting to have responsibilities like that, which is one of the reasons I like PDS so much. After riding it was just like the day of the race, relaxing and playing on the beach.

We went to the beach as soon as we were done with breakfast and we stayed until about five in the afternoon. When we got to the beach I started to skimboard. A skimboard is a thin piece of wood that is waxed and shaped like a surfboard. I did that for about three hours every day. When my little cousins (Enzo and Giada) arrived at the beach I would go and hang out with them. When they got down on the sand I pulled Enzo on my Boogie Board for half an hour. Those were the activities that I did most.

On certain days we went to to other beaches called Avalon and Stone Harbor. Both places are full of shops and things to do. The place we ate at in Avalon was called The Rocking Chair. The restaurant had a big wrap around deck that had about ten to eleven tables on it. You could sit inside or outside, so we sat outside (I have never eaten indoors there). The food there was amazing. I had chocolate chip pancakes and a scrambled egg on the side. We only ate out about four times that week.

Along with the great food there is also a lot of stores you can go to. For me the best stores are in Stone Harbor. One of my personal favorite store is a little Christmas tree shop called Paisley Christmas Shoppe. It is one block away from the main street in between a little kids clothing store and a jewelry shop. In the window of the store, they had put small, fake Christmas trees with all of the ornaments they were selling on them. When you walk in the door the first thing that you here is Christmas music. Everywhere you look there is a new ornament. Every year I go there with my grandma, which is the reason it is one of my favorite stores.

If I wasn’t on the beach or shopping, I was in the beach house, either reading with my dad or playing with Enzo and Marlo. The beach house was pretty big so there was a lot of things that we could do other than sit down and watch TV. The thing that we did most was going on “secret” missions. There were lots of other things that we did that I can’t remember. It was a real blast to be with all of my family and playing around.

I have been going to the beach since I was very little and it has become something that I look forward to every year.

Scary Story – By Eamonn

It was just another day at school for Willy, with nothing out of the ordinary…for now. Everyone had gotten to Narrow Falls Public School on time and was heading to their first classes. All the students were passing the same “out of order” bathroom that was there everyday without so much as a glance. For some reason, on that day, Willy glanced over and saw the bathroom. No one had gone in there for ten years because it was supposedly haunted. Willy always loved to be the one to do things that no one else would do. He decided to go into the room. Little did he know that these were going to be his last few hours living the life he knew so well.

Willy had decided to do the stunt during the lunch hour and it was 11:59. As he was getting closer to the bathroom he could feel his heart beating faster with each step that he took and he was having second thoughts. But as he came around the corner and saw the door all that was replaced by thoughts of being the first to go in for ten years, and how popular he would be. He stopped at the door of the bathroom. He opened it and slipped through the crack not knowing what to expect.

It was just an ordinary bathroom. Nothing creepy or scary. But then he heard something in the very last stall. He walked over to it and stopped looking at the door not knowing what to do. He thought about it for a minute then braced himself for the worst. He opened the door to see his best friend’s body lying on the floor. He was about to run when the body jumped up and yelled “ APRIL FOOLS!”

Week #1 CHALLENGE POST!!! By: Eamonn

WEEK#1 CHALLENGE#2

ALL ABOUT ME

My name is Eamonn and I live in New York in the United States of America. One thing that a lot of people know me for is my running. I have been competing in adult road and cross country races since I was four years old. The first real road race that I did was called the Midnight Run in New York City . It was four miles long and went around the perimeter of Central Park. I did it with my dad and mom. That race was nine years ago and my running has improved a lot since then.

Nowadays I am running 5ks in about eighteen minutes . The longest race that I have done is seven miles long and completely in the woods. It is called the Leatherman’s Loop and takes place in Pound Ridge, New York. It is one of my favorite courses to run and it all happens in April. That race usually  starts at nine in the morning and most of the time takes me about 48 minutes to finish. The course has three river crossings in it and goes through some of the most awesome pine forests I have ever seen.

One of the things that I do when I am not running  is going out into the woods. When I go out into the woods I usually build forts. It is exciting to build forts because I get to use nature, not man made materials to build things. At the school that I previously went to, we had actually created a village out of little huts, on our own, without any tools. I had made my fort on the edge of our village which allowed me to get the most business. It was really cool mostly because we had thought of and created everything including a small government ( I had gotten the job of town sheriff).

I also take karate and kickboxing. A lot of the time I do both. In karate I am about to become a green belt which is pretty high in ranking. The kickboxing a little harder to do because it is made for grown ups but they always let some kids in. On Saturdays I can even do three workouts in two hours. I start by going to karate for forty five minutes, then I go to the kick boxing class for another forty five minutes, and then to finish it all off my dad and I run about two miles back to our house.

My final hobby is Legos. At home if I have nothing else to do I will just sit there and build these amazing creations. My method for building with them is to get sets, build them, destroy them, and then use those parts to build parts to build other awesome things that just pop out of my mind. I build mostly twelve inch sets. It is cool to let my imagination create different things and then for my hands to build them. The main reason that I like building with Legos is that it lets me escape the real world and go into one of my own creation.

That was just a little about me and what my hobbies are.
