The Day I Fell In love – Free Choice – Fiona

It was a nice summer day and I had been thinking about my 2 sweet old dogs. I decided I wanted the responsibility to raise a puppy and take care of it. I had been asking my mom since I was six but I thought that it was my eleventh birthday soon and I was ready.

I had been researching rescue puppies. My eyes came across one though, a brown and black bloodhound mutt with giant paws the size of my hand. He was 8 weeks old and looked sweet. But the problem was, I did not know where he was. The day had come, I went to the Beacon Rescue Shelter to look for puppies. I looked and looked but I couldn’t find the one my heart desired. It had been 25 minutes of looking and my mom came up to me and said she found him. She found the puppy that I loved so deeply. I rushed over to him and I knew he was perfect for me. The only problem was, he had a sister and they were together their whole lives. We couldn’t just separate them..  As we drove back with brother and sister bloodhounds, I was hugging my dog tight and kissing him all over. We were his new home. I took a while to think of a perfect name, but I did, Ozzie. (But Zooey for short)

Now it has been almost a year and my puppy and his sister are doing great. They have gotten bigger and love us as much as we love them. I love him more than anything in the world and would do anything for that dog.

Fencing By Fiona

My Passion

I have many passions but this is one I love overall. I have been studying fencing for about 3 years now. I have always loved the Idea of sword fighting and since I was 8 I got to live my dream. Fencing is more difficult than you would think. It involves skill, strategy, patience and balance. Why do I like it you ask, well, I love fencing because I love sports, I love skill/strategy games and I LOVE swords!!! So basically fencing is the sport for me.

I fence at Phoenix academy in Poughkeepsie NY. The teachers are great and we get to do workouts/obstacle courses in the beginning. So if you are maybe just a little bit interested, I would recommend going for it. I was nervous to start but now, it is my favorite sport. So whatever your passion is, carry on with it. Because when you are older, you might regret quitting!

Holiday Post By Fiona

Winter holidays are my favorite holidays. Although I only take part in two of them, I enjoy them a lot. I celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah.

I celebrate Hanukkah because my grandmother is Jewish. I celebrate Christmas, even though I am not religious. I celebrate it because my family just enjoys all of the happiness during Christmas. Both of the holidays are quite fun. Although during Hanukkah I don’t receive presents, I enjoy lighting the candles every night. What I enjoy about Christmas is that everybody in my family is generous and gives gifts. I give a gift to everybody in my family but most of all I enjoy my whole family coming over and eating delicious food. Holidays are not about gifts and food, they are about family.

So basically in my opinion, winter holidays are the best!!

The blogging challenge has been pretty fun. I really enjoy doing a cool activity every week. I mostly enjoy it because I like writing, and I like class activities. One of my favorite posts to do was when I made the halloween poem. It is my favorite because I enjoy writing poems and figuring out how to piece words together into a cool rhyme! In a rating from 1-10 I would give the whole blogging challenge idea a 7 and ½ or an 8. One of the most exciting parts is the award for best group blog. I don’t really care if we win, It just gives me excitement!!

So to all bloggers, go out there and blog away!!!!

Week #7 blogging challenge How to live like a wolf

Week #7 By Fiona, How to live like a wolf

I got out of my car, too excited to go inside the gate. I was going to the wolf sanctuary.

Wolves are my favorite animal, I have my reasons to love them so much. I feel like I am so connected with them. They are amazing animals, also what is so smart is that they travel in packs with a leader.

They do this so that the pack doesn’t go off and do whatever they want. If that happened then the wolves wouldn’t survive. The alpha or the pack leader is usually male because male wolves are bigger, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t female alphas out there. Once the pack hunts the alpha always eats first, to prevent fighting over food. Wolves are loyal, brave, sensitive and fierce. They never leave their pack behind.

There are probably more breeds than you think.. There are about 39 different breeds of wolves.

There are also different positions of a pack, They include; The alpha(The leader), Beta(The wolves in line that will eventually replace the alpha when dead) and finally the Omega( The lowest position of the pack.) So wolves are pretty much one of the coolest animals in my opinion!!!

THE AWAKENING By Fiona Starr

It was an ordinary day in Bexley London for the Martin brothers. The two boys were sitting at their dining table eating porridge. Their Mother Margaret Martin had two boys; Henry Martin and Peter Martin. They lived in an old wooden house, in the corner of town where nobody ever went.

“Mum,” Peter mumbled “I heard something in the walls.”

“Oh I’m sure it is nothing sweetheart.”

Peter  walked over and knocked on the wall, and suddenly everything started to shake. Peters bowl of porridge smashed on the wood floor.

Everything went dark as they heard a creaking noise coming toward them.

“AAH!” Henry screamed. He was no longer in the room.

“HENRY!” Margaret screamed.

She rushed to the door gripping Peter’s arm. She pulled on the handle but it fell off.

“Oh you think it will be that easy.” A mysterious voice said as margaret’s whole body turned into a skeleton.

Peter ran as fast as he could to the dumbwaiter. He got inside and used the rope to pull himself up to the 3d floor. He ran to the corner of the room, trying to breath as silently as possible.

“Oh this will be fun HAHAHA!”

Peter grabbed the salt on a small table across the room. It was said that no demon could cross a salt line, But this creature was not a demon. He made a small circle around himself. “Ha, you think those silly little tricks will work on me! I am not a demon you foolish boy!”

Peter felt a chill run over his back. A black smoke whistled around the room, as a loud and bright flash commenced. Suddenly a horned creature crawled slowly over to him.

Peter was dead in a second and nobody ever knew what happened to the Martin family.

nights galore

Trick-Or-Treaters everywhere they might give you a bit of a scare, But just beware of the house on end of the street, you don’t know what you might meet

Although I do, I never want to go back to the house on the end of the street because I do know for what you will meet.

Into the mansion the deeper you go, at the end you will scream OH NO,

You see a monster with eyes as big as  boulders, “ IT JUST TOUCHED ME ON THE SHOULDER, You run out of the house back on to the street For now you are safe but not until you meet the next monster of the street.

Blogging Challenge Week 3 Activity #1 Cape May

Every year my family goes on vacation to Cape May. Cape May is located on the Jersey Shore Exit Zero. It is a nice little town with a beautiful beach! It takes about four hours of being in a car with two dogs in the back, but this year it will be four dogs. We have rented the same house for two years now, and I wouldn’t say it’s a great house but it is better than nothing. The house has three bedrooms,  two bathrooms and a small backyard! One of my dogs Gracie likes the crabs and digging in the sand. My other dog Oliver is scared of the water; the two new puppies, and well I’m not sure how they will act yet. I would recommend going there for a nice vacation!
