Week 4 activity 3 By Memphis

For this activity we had to download this app called Ghostery Extension. Which basically tells you how many trackers are tracking you for each site you are on and enables you to block the trackers. I went on 5 of my favorite websites and was amazed at how many or how little trackers there were. On one of my favorite gaming sites ninja kiwi there were 9 trackers. In another gaming site cool math games 6 trackers edublogs the site I get the challenges from 7 trackers and for twitter 0 and youtube 1 which surprised me. Why don’t you download ghostery trackers and go to your favorite websites see how many trackers you have.

Week 3 Time for a break

Week 3
Games on Time for a break
On Edublogs week 3 – Time for a Break there is a game called Refugees in Sudan. In the game you have to be a member of big family and once you pick that family member and use him/her to get water with a jug but the whole time you being chased by the military you can hide though but you can only hide at certain spots, like behind a bush or behind a rock.

This game really opened up my eyes to what is happening in the world that many innocent communities are always at risk and on the run because of war and other terrible terrible things. I also learned about the community itself like what jobs people had and how they helped the community

In the game you can also take action in the real world sometimes in the middle of the game a little square comes up and in the square it says: Help? if you click that word it shows you how you can help and websites help you help like you can contact president Obama or some other important people. This game is fun but definitely teaches you lot’s of thing I think you should play it.

One for the Murphys – Heroes – By Memphis

I think there are three heroes so far in One for the Murphys. This next piece of writing is who I think those heroes are and why I think they are heroes.

1. Jack: I think he is a hero because he is a fireman. His job is to go into buildings on fire and save everybody who is in there and put the fires out.

2. Julie: I think she is a hero because she rushed her son Michael Eric to the hospital when he had a seizure attack. She also really helped Carley get comfortable in her foster home and foster family.

3. Carley: I think Carley is a hero because she really stayed calm in a really scary moment. She took charge and calmed everybody down as well as taking care of Adam and Daniel and taking care of the house.

I think these are the heroes in One for the Murphys. Do agree or disagree with my heroes and reasons they are heroes?

Summer Love is Lobster – By Memphis

This summer I did a lot of fun things and if I tried to explain them all it would take up a lot of room. So I’m just going to talk a little about my trip to Maine. Every year since I was really little my family takes a trip to Maine. Usually we stay for a week but this year we stayed for 2 weeks. Some of the things we did included: Swimming in really cold waters. So cold that I was the only person that went in most of the time, going to a museum that had a whole exhibit on quilts of all shapes and sizes, some of the quilts were really cool. On the second floor of that building there was an actual artists studio so it was really cool seeing that.

I ate awesome food all the time. Like at the restaurant called the lost kitchen, where they only  used local foods and made the meals right in front of you it was so cool. I also tried something I hadn’t eaten in a long time: lobster rolls. I had not had lobster rolls since I ate a bad lobster. I got sick. I thought I was allergic to lobster ever since. When the allergist told me I could eat lobster I was so excited. So when my dad told me he was buying lobster rolls I was really really happy. By the time my dad came back with the lobster rolls I was drooling thinking about lobster. When he came through door he almost dropped the lobster rolls because I charged him so hard.

The table was set in 10 seconds because everyone really wanted lobster. As soon as the table, was set we took the food out of the to-go bag and started eating. When I took my first bite lobster juice squirted into my mouth. That may sound gross but it was actually really good. The juicy and chewy lobster mixed perfectly with the crunch of the lettuce bed under the lobster and when you took a bite of the bread it had soaked up the juices and you got another bite of that. It was one of the best things I had ever eaten. That is what I did over the summer.

Scary story

There was a new kid in Trenton Middle School. Her name was Sherrie. Something was weird about her ….her eyes were so black no one could see her pupils..Nora instantly wanted to be her friend because she had none of her own. So when Nora asked if she could come to Sherrie’s house, Nora practically burst out of her skin when Sherrie said, “yes.” Sherrie gave Nora her address and Nora went home.

As soon as Nora got home she asked her mom if she could go to Sherrie’s house. Her mom asked her if she knew where Sherrie lived. Nora said Sherrie lived on 53 Ssalg lane. Nora’s mom gasped then got a hold of herself. She said, “No one has lived in that house for years.” Nora’s mom said “I will not let you go to a abandon house.” Nora screamed and ran to her room, but as soon as she got there she jumped out the window and ran to Sherrie’s house.

When Nora arrived, she tried the door. It was unlocked, so Nora went in. The first thing she saw when she walked in were lots of glass animals. Then she spotted Sherrie. She was standing near the stairwell.

“Hello Nora,” Sherrie said, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
“Okay?” Nora stuttered.
“Nora what’s your favorite animal?” Sherrie asked.
“Umm maybe a giraffe.”
“Great.” Sherrie says “Now just wait here for a sec.”
As soon as Sherrie left the power flickered out and then… Nora screamed.

The next day Nora’s mom came to 53 Ssalg Lane. As she walked in she heard a crunch and a sharp pain shot up her foot. She lifted her foot and she saw a glass giraffe that looked almost exactly like Nora. She let out a scream and neither mother nor daughter were seen again.

Buddies – By Memphis

On 9/23/2014, my teacher Shirley said that we were going to have buddies and I was so excited. If you don’t know what buddies are, they are when an older child from sixth- eighth grade is assigned to a younger child from pre-k to third grade. The sixth grade this year got paired up with the pre-k and the k.

When we got to the pre-k and k classroom, no one was there. All of the 4 and 5 year old kids were outside on the playground. As soon as we opened the door it was time to for the Pre-K and K kids to come inside. They all sat on the rug so our class joined them. When we were all seated the Pre-K and K teacher Amy asked us two questions: the first question was, What is your name? The second question was, What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

After everyone answered the questions we got to play in the room. I met a kid named Barley and he was really nice. We played with play-doh, went in the block area and did a puzzle. After that it was time to clean up and then go outside but first we had to go over to Shirley who told us who our buddies were.

When Shirley told me my buddy was Barely, I was sooo excited. When we got outside, Barley and I pretended to sell magic dust. We did that for awhile after that we pretended to be paleontologists and we looked for bones. When we did that, my friend Julian and his buddy Malcolm played with us. We did that for maybe ten minutes. After that we had to go inside and leave. So I gave my buddy a high-5 and left. I had so much fun that day.
