Week 4-Activity 3 by Mike

Week 4-activity 3

The activity I decided to do was activity 3 in which I install the the ghostly extension and see which companies are tracking my activities.

While I was doing my homework I went on five of my favorite websites and saw how many companies were tracking my activities. It shocked me that the most educational site, ixl.com, had the most people monitoring me.

After this whole experience I am probably going to change what sites I go on.

Town and Country – activity one By Mike

 town and country-activity one

If Miss Wyatt and Mrs Waters were to visit Washington D.C. three places I would recommend for Miss Wyatt and Mrs Waters would be… the Smithsonian stip of eleven different museums the International Spy Museum Ben’s Chili Bowl I chose these three places because they were obvious picks for each person’s likes and dislikes, I chose the Smithsonian because it is, the national museum of our country, and a very interesting place filled with something for every body; the Smithsonian has an air and space museum, a natural history museum, and a zoo for people who like animals, It even has Tony Hawk’s first skateboard. I think that anyone in any country would find something that would interest them at the Smithsonian museum. I think that the International Spy Museum would be a good choice because it would be interesting to see how espionage evolved throughout the years as well as seeing what techniques, gadgets, and risks it took to learn vital information. It also has photos of many famous spies including the spy James Bond was based off of. The International Spy Museum also has records of the first acts of espionage, committed during the time of the Roman empire. Finally, it would be a wasted trip without going to Ben’s Chili Bowl, a famous Washington D.C. diner. It has arguably the best chili in America. Some feel that the only way to enjoy this chili is to pour it over a special D.C. hot dog made with half beef and half pork called a “half smoke”, the godzilla of all hot dogs. Presidents have eaten there. It will probably be a good and different place for Miss Wyatt and Mrs.Waters. These are the attractions I would recommend to Miss Wyatt and Mrs Waters because things like these would make anybody from around the world want to pack their bags and take the first flight to D.C.

Summer Story- by Mike

Have you ever been to Long Beach Island?

I just had the most wonderful vacation there. I went surfing, played mini-golf, and I had a great dinner at a quaint restaurant.  It was (by far) the best vacation ever!

If you’ve not gone surfing yet, then I suggest you stop reading and take a lesson.

Surfing is enjoyable, and you become one with nature. It certainly cools you off on a really hot day. I got into surfing because of my dad. We always talked about surfing but never got into it until one day dad decided to sign us up for a leason. It’s a long story but that day I learned that surfing is like riding a bike, it’s scary at first and you might fall off a few times, but once you find your groove it’s smooth sailing from there on out.

Another thing I did on my vacation was mini-golf. Mini-golf is a bit harder than regular golf due to the increased amount of obstacles. All mini-golf courses are different, some are challenging and some are not. I prefer challenging mini-golf courses because when you get a hole-in-one, it is all the more gratifying. Once I was on the 18th hole and I hit the ball so hard, it flew across the course, and landed in the first hole.

In regard to the meals I had on my vacation, the dinner at Harvey Cedar’s Clam Bar was the best. The food there was homemade and fresh from the seashore. Some of the things that my family and I ate were Manhattan clam chowder, fried shrimp, and clams casino. The restaurant didn’t have menus, instead it had a giant billboard with choices of things to eat.

All of the activities on my vacation were a lot of fun. The dinners I had were excellent. Seeing my family & friends was the “icing on the cake.” That is why my vacation to Long Beach Island was the best vacation ever!

Scary Story -by Mike

The Doll

One year after the Cold War ended, on a bright, sunny day a little Russian girl, named Norma went to her favorite antique shop. The antique shop itself was dimly lit with strange murals on the wall and rooms full of strange old antiques.  In the shop she saw an old, dusty doll with brown hair and little maroon freckles. This was no ordinary doll; this one danced. Norma absolutely loved the her, so she saved up her allowance to buy it.  After three weeks of waiting, she finally bought the beautiful doll.

Later that night at 9:00pm as Norma was just about to go to sleep, she started to hear something that seemed to be a far off voice saying, “Norma, Norma I’m coming up the stairs.” Five minutes later she heard the same voice but closer and it said, “ Norma, Norma I’m in the hallway.” Ten minutes pass until again she hears the voice again, but now it’s extremely close and seems say in a dull whisper, “ Norma, Norma I’m in your bed.” Then in a voice that only she can hear, the small, dark form said, “ Norma, Norma you’re dead.”

That night a scream so loud was heard that to this day peoples’ ears still ring. Legend has it that if you go into the old antique shop you can hear the eerie scream of the little girl, Norma.

Challenge One Activity 4 – By Mike

Challenge one – Activity four

Create an avatar

This weekend I had to pick an Edublog challenge.

The challenge that I decided to pick was challenge one, activity four in which I had to create an avatar or a representative of myself.

At first I wasn’t quite sure how to make and insert an avatar. After reading the form twice I finally thought I had figured out how to do it. I then went on one of the recommended sites and started to create my avatar.

After almost twenty minutes I had finally made my avatar. When I got to the blog I just couldn’t insert the picture. Instead of wasting my time on something that I didn’t know how to do; I decided to go on to the next thing that I had to do.
