The Letter by Yasmeen

Charlotte, Vanessa, and Scarlet were sitting on the porch when the mailman came and gave them all the mail. They were confused because the mailman never gave them the mail he always put it in the mail box.

“Are you girls Charlotte,Vanessa, and Scarlet?” he asked.Screen Shot 2015-10-20 at 1.19.55 PM

“Yes,” they replied.

“You have a letter from anonymous.” The girls looked horrified , and the mailman left. The 3 girls were silent, and they didn’t know if they should open it? How did anonymous know their names? Who was anonymous? That was the biggest question!

The girls decided to open the letter and Vanessa spoke, “Guys let’s all open it together. I think that would be better.”

“Okay let’s open it” Scarlet said.

They opened the letter it read: Dear Charlotte, Vanessa, and Scarlet, I am sorry for scaring you with the whole anonymous thing but I am inviting you to a Halloween party, at Will’s haunted house.

From  Anonymous.

They decided to go!

The girls started to get ready. Scarlet went as a fox, Vanessa a tiger, and Charlotte went as a cat. They approached the haunted house, and as they entered, there was spooky Halloween music playing, as well as snacks.

Then a man came up to them and said, “Hello I am Jake.”

“Hi!” they replied.

“I wanted to invite you to this party because………….” Then suddenly the room got dark, the music turned off and everyone left. The three girls were left in the dark room and heard scary noises, scratching on the walls.

”AHHHHHHHHHHHH!” the 3 girls screamed.

They could feel the walls closing in on them, and heard ghostly sounds, “oooooooohhhhhhhh.” Suddenly the doors opened and they ran out screaming “AHHHHHHHH”.

In the bushes their parents were laughing at the Halloween prank they played on their kids.

The Mist by Caidin

The Mist

On one Halloween night, as I pulled up into my driveway, someone ran up to my car and yelled, “ Don’t go in there! The history of that house will do you no good.” I thought nothing of it and went inside. Later I went to sleep.

I woke up in my dark room, heard an odd sound and thought about that person warning me. I shook the idea out of my head and tried to go back to sleep. Then there it was again. I just thought it was a mouse so I went back to bed. Then I heard it again but this time a red light came with the sound. It was emitting from under my door. I stepped down from my bed and a floorboard creaked. The sound stopped. Once it started again, it seemed like it was getting closer, and the noise was getting louder.

My muscles froze and I could barely breath. I saw the handle to my door turn and I ran and put my chair under it. Then I saw the mist coming through my walls. I was completely immersed in it now. It blinded me and I fell down. I tried to scream but nothing came out. The sound was beating against my eardrums. I felt claustrophobic and  I swore I saw a face among all the blaring noise and light. Then it stepped out of the red mist. I tried to run but the mist engulfed my feet. It felt like a cinder block and It pulled me in slowly.

I was sucked into the mist and it disappeared from this dimension. I was gone, forever stuck in the mist. I lost all memories. No person would ever know about this, until the next doomed person moved into this evil house.

The Curse of The Trees-Eden

It was just an ordinary day at the Enchantia Mall in Poughkeepsie. Zola, Lilly and I were walking around when a hair clip caught my eye in Zandle, the accessories store. It was made of ancient wood and covered in gemstones that sparkled like the stars. It was so beautiful that I had to stop. So I walked in and bought it. The moment I got home I put it on and showed my mom. She adored it. I went to my room so I could look into the mirror but something wasn’t right. My hair almost looked like wood and I could barely see the clip.

That night at around 10:30, I knew something was terribly wrong. I was typing on my computer but I could not really think. I wrote a note to my mom saying that I thought the hair clip was slowly changing me into a tree. As I was typing the last word, I looked down and saw that my knee looked wooden. I needed to get rid of the hair clip before I turned into a tree, and this was my last chance.

I ran as fast as I could towards the Hudson River to throw the clip away, and so no one would ever find it again. I could feel myself getting stiffer and stiffer, slowly turning into wood as I got closer and closer to the Hudson River. As I got there, I knew I was almost fully a tree. I couldn’t walk anymore. My feet turned to roots. I threw the hair clip into the water and as I let go of the clip, my arm sprouted into a branch and my fingers into leaves. With my last breath, I thought of everything I was leaving behind and became a tree with a soul.

Midnight By Matt

On halloween night, a man was on his bed doing his business work. Suddenly, he heard the door to his house open. He wanted to go and see who or what it was.

The man heard breathing on his neck. He darted off out of his house through the window and falls off his roof into a pile of leaves that he had raked that morning. “Something has my foot!” he screamed. He was losing consciousness and had blacked out. The next day he told himself it was just a dream and headed over to his friend Quinn’s house. He rang the doorbell and to surprise there was no answer. He looked in the house and saw a shadowy figure and Quinn dead on the ground.

Once again, he had fainted, and woke up in his bed. He told himself it was a dream again. He walked over to the mini mall across the street and  went into the store that was called T-Shirt Planet. It was quiet like it always was, but he did not see anyone, not even at the counter. He decided to go into the back to see if anyone was there, but he did not know that this was the last of him…

The Midnight Vampire train-by Khalil

Zach loved riding on trains, in fact he rode one everyday for fun. After searching on his computer he found a new train called The Midnight Vampire Train, on the bottom it said, “Once you’re on there is no getting off”…

Zach laughed hard. He knew it was some person trying to scare people so he clicked to buy tickets. He noticed there was only one time available – midnight. He shrugged his shoulders and bought a ticket for himself.

Zach boarded the train. As he was walking to his seat he noticed the conductor had blood on his shirt and teeth. It gave Zach the chills. When everyone was seated the train started to move. It went faster and faster then it stopped. It started up again but this time it was going up a hill. At the top of the hill it stopped at the entrance of a cave. There was a sign that said, The Vampire Cave.

The train entered the cave. All was silent except the noise of the train moving along the track. Suddenly the lights went out, smoke filled the train and Zach couldn’t see a thing. He heard screams coming from the back of the train. Something grabbed him, and he screamed in pain. Something bit him in the arm. He felt blood gushing from his arm. He knew the conductor was a vampire and he was the one that bit him. Holding his arm he tried to escape from the train but he couldn’t find the door. The floor opened up from under him causing Zach and other passengers to fall. They fell into a dark cave. He heard laughing coming from the back of the cave, ten vampires came from the corner. Everyone screamed in horror. Then the floor closed and the train slowly started to return to the station leaving Zach and the other passengers to their fate.

Monkeys – Ethan

It was a snowy day here in London, England. The year was 1948, and I was just climbing out of bed to sell the morning Newspaper. Once I was out the door I heard a very interesting sound ‘CHING, CHANG, CHING, CHANG!’ It was the sound of the The Cymbal Monkey outside the Antique Store! I always wanted to buy this monkey because its sound was so perfect. I only needed five more Pounds, thankfully each Newspaper cost One Pound. Once I got to my spot, immediately I got seven Pounds! I finally had enough to buy The Cymbal Monkey…

I ran to The Antique Store, looked in the window and there was The Cymbal Monkey. I gave the clerk eight Pounds and he gave it me. I ran home as fast as I could and I quickly showed my parents my new toy and went to my room. I wanted to hear how it sounded, so I turned the monkey over and flipped the switch on his back. The eyes glowed bright red, but its sound was so perfect. I turned the monkey off and went downstairs. That night after supper as I laid in bed I heard ‘CHING, CHANG, CHING, CHANG.’

I rose to see The Cymbal Monkey, at the foot of my bed playing its song. Suddenly my Monkey ran at me, playing its song like a mad man. Smashing my head with its Cymbals! I grabbed the Monkey and threw it out the window into the garbage can. Right then my mom came running up and she saw my room, how messy it was, and she grounded me! I told my friends but they thought I was crazy. That night I was about to fall asleep, then I heard a ‘CHING, CHANG’ I screamed!!

The Hospital – By Sebastian

The Hospital

I was walking down the street and it was 8:30. The night sky was dark and starless as I sat down and looked into my bag and pulled out a pen. I looked up and saw a man run into an alleyway. I followed him there. He saw me and started running away! I chased after him but then I tripped and woke up.

In an empty room, I looked at the walls as there were no windows, just nothing. I stood up, walked to the door and opened it. I went to the hallway the room which was dark and dusty. I started to walk down the hallway only hearing my footsteps. I stopped as I felt like I was being followed. I turned around and saw a figure that looked like my father. He pushed me onto the floor but I stood up and started running away. I ran into a empty closet and peeked out the blurred window. I saw nothing then I saw him eating the medicine. He grew into a monster and it scared me.

I grabbed a mop and ran out and hit him with the mop. I thought he was dead but he was unconscious. I started running to my room and then I grabbed the only thing in the corner of the room, my longboard. I skated down the rail. I heard a roar from the top floor and it was my dad. I fell off my longboard. It all went by fast. I hit my head on the three floor stair case. I broke my leg on the first floor carpet and I started to crawl to the door till my longboard hit me. I was knocked out and I woke up in my bed. I checked what the date was… it said November 27, 2015. I was shocked.

The Winner- A Scary Story – By Audrey

The Winner

There Faye was, standing alone in Ghostwillow Park, at nine o’clock at night. The birds had stopped warbling, so the only sound was the bounce of her ball hitting the paddle board in her hand. Over and over she bounced the ball in a hypnotizing rhythm. Bounce, Pause. Bounce, Pause. Bounce, Pause.

He is not coming, Faye thought. I should’ve known. Faye was waiting for the editor of a Halloween catalogue, a man named Dee, to deliver her prize money. You see, Faye’s life was very unremarkable. So when she saw the raffle in the magazine for two hundred dollars, she knew she had to enter. She expected the worst, but a week later, she found out she had won. Now she was anxiously waiting for someone to deliver her money.

Suddenly, a figure appeared on the trail. He wore a fedora and a leather coat, and he was very pale, almost white. In his hand was an envelope. He walked up to her and grabbed her arm. “Congratulations,” he whispered. “You’ve won.” Faye screamed.

The man dragged her behind a massive rock in the middle of the park. He grabbed Faye by the neck so she couldn’t breathe. She tried to pry his hands off her neck, but he was too strong.

Finally she managed to swing her leg and kick him in the chest, sending him stumbling back into the shrubs. She watched in horror as a stray branch impaled his heart, and he started sweating. Soon she realized that it was not sweat, It was drops of flesh coming off his skin. He was melting into a huge, dark puddle.

Faye caught her breath. Still shaken up, she looked at the puddle and noticed a small, white rectangle drifting in it. She smiled, picked up her envelope, and headed home.

Scary Story – by Shane

It was a dark, stormy foggy night and I decided to take a walk over to my friend’s house when suddenly I fell into a big dark scary hole. I was in some sort of a catacomb with blood all over the walls. Then I heard creepy laughing. I followed the laughing and came up on a women all dressed in black. t looked like the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen with warts on her face and on her legs. She had red eyes and she looked white as a ghost.

The woman looked up at me with a grey face and said, “They’re coming!”

“Who,” I said.

“The catacomb guards, if they find you before you can get out, they will kill you.”

“How do I get out?” I asked.

She said, “The keys – you need to find two keys to unlock the door and get out.”

I said, “Thank you.” She just sat there and laughed and then I heard people coming.

She said, “Go, you must go.” Then I ran as fast as I could. I took the nearest turn and hid behind the wall. Then I listened. I heard screaming then nothing…

I heard dragging on the ground. I see them dragging the women on the ground. I saw that they have killed her. I felt sad but I dare not speak or they would hear me. I went to sleep on the cold damp floor. When I woke up, I went back to where I fell in and looked up. Still dark I thought to myself. But another day is still to come…
