Holiday Celebration – Josephine

We all have different celebrations but whatever they are we all love them. So, how about Christmas? Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and also one of the only ones besides Easter that I have never had something bad happen. I just love Christmas and the fact that it is coming up makes me so happy, but also annoyed. I mean it is in seven days and I can’t wait that long. I mean really seven days! Yeah I said I love Christmas but you don’t know why so here it is.  A few days before Christmas we go Christmas shopping. We split up and get presents and I like this because then it is not just people in your family getting one we all do and that means more presents.

There are many reasons I like this holiday and there are many reasons it is one of my favorites. Well yes, there are presents and yes that is fun but I promise you when I say that I don’t want to be too cheesy and I think it is the truth that it is being with your family that really does count and I think I am so lucky because one of the best things about opening presents is your family being there to see what you think and your expressions of happiness, joy etc.

There are many reasons why I love Christmas but one thing and one thing only that you don’t even know is there sometimes well it is those old fashioned snow covered traditions. Don’t you just love them? Well, I least I do. You can have a lot of things, or not but those traditions and you will never forget them. Now some of my traditions are like cutting our own tree down and getting to open one present on Christmas eve that always seems to be pajamas  so we can wear them that night and many more like full waking up my parents before their ten cups of coffee and more, but if I said them all we would be here all day. I don’t know about you but I love Christmas and I hope you do too!

The links above are links to videos about digital footprints. I know a lot of people don’t know what a digital footprint is so if you are one of those people, here is some information. Basically a digital footprint is what you do on line and what you leave behind about you and other people. I think that a lot of people don’t understand about digital footprints. You can’t just put something online and if you don’t want it there later just delete it, because even if you do, it is never really gone. So if you are going to make a digital foot print make it good. I choose these videos because I think they teach you a lot about digital footprints without making it boring. So those are some of the reasons that I choose those videos but most of all I think they wrap up everything you need to know about digital footprints in one video.

Week #3 Time for a Break

So this year in my school we are doing challenges and right now i am doing a challenge where i write about games i played on the web site the teachers gave us. So this first paragraph is going to be about my first game and my first game was a card game where you flip over a card and you try to make the next card you flip over is the same pitcher as the other one.On this website there are a lot of games but this one is one of my favorites. it is fun and achille inquiries a lot of memory because you have to remember what card was where so you can match it.

So on top of this is a little piece of writing about on of the games i played on a web site but now i am going to tell you about another game.I played a lot of games and i like a lot of them and the ones i like were mostly the switches card games and there were different versions of the game like houres,flowers, drawing. so there are a lot of versions to the switching card game

So when i was on the website i played many games but the one i just told you about is achille probably was one of my favorites.That on is my favorite because of of the guessing and a the end knowing that you completed it .The howl thing and knowing you matched them all up so i guess what i am trying to say is you feel a sense of accomplishment.

Challenge number 1 Activity 2

Hi! I am Josephine. I’m 11 years old go and to PDS. This is my first year here as I just moved back from Ireland and had lived there for 6 ½ years It is only my second year living her even though I have lived here before. In PDS we do a lot of fun stuff and and right now we are doing challenges. I chose to do the “All about me page”

My mom’s American and my dad’s Irish and since I was two I lived in America, but when I was three I moved to Ireland. I went to a school called Saint Mathias. It was a good size school but then everybody left for high school and to different schools and places .The last time I heard there was only eight people in the school, so now it is tiny. When I lived there I went to that school and we came to America every summer.

Then we moved here and I went to Chancellor Livingston for 4th and 5th grade then I started going to PDS. So far I really like being here and I am enjoying doing all these challenges and I hope you enjoyed my post. So I have been living in New York, I have enjoyed doing a lot of pleasant stuff.  I enjoy horse back riding, going to fairs, swimming and a lot of other really exciting stuff. That is some of the many things I like to do here in NY.

One for the Murphys – Heroes – Josie

In One for the Murphys one of my heroes is Mrs.Murphy because it feels to me that she saved Carley. I think that Mrs.Murphy is a sweet person in general, but especially to Carley even when she is being sarcastic, rude and heart full.  I know that in the book you can tell that she had a hard past but it still is so hard to have such patience with someone. Now I know that it is pretty easy to see that Carley had her problems in the past but maybe Mrs Murphy knows more. I think that Mrs.Murphy saved Carley by fostering her and making her life so much easier and showing her what a real child’s live is meant to be like. In my opinion, that is why one of my heroes in One for the Murphys is Mrs. Murphy.

Scary Story – By Josephine

It was a cold winter morning and it was 6:00am. I just woke up. Then I remembered that today is the day that I move and I don’t want to move. The next day we arrived at the house. It was so creepy but I got a feeling that I remembered it.

We got a tour of the house and I froze when I heard that that this place used to be a Children’s asan Asylum. When I got to my room I decided to go to bed. My room was small but nice. In the morning I went to my parents room. When I got there I stopped and looked. It was beautiful and then I understood why my parents bought this terrible place.

My parents were sleeping so I went to explore. There was one door that I wanted to go in but we weren’t allowed, because of the the person who used two stay there but I decided to go in anyway.

I walked in and saw room like the others, but instead of bars there was glass and the room look a lot nicer. It had a pink fuzzy rug, a white table, a big bed and it looked familiar. A computer was there and when I opened it, tons of files popped up and it had different peoples histories. So I thought however owned this was a stalker.

I closed the computer and went to my room and mom was there. She told me that I used to live here and I lived in a room behind the glass. Then I screamed! I was crazy… “No you weren’t crazy, just intelligent and everybody loved you. It was really just something with personality changes but you grow out of it,” said my mom. Then I fainted, but this time I didn’t wake up.

This summer my family went to Cape Cod and I was really excited, but not for the car ride. When we got to Cape Cod, we went to the campsite and settled in. We went to the beach the next day because there is one by our campsite. During our vacation, we actually visited all the beaches in Cape Cod  At the beaches we went swimming and boogie boarding. At our campsite there was a park and it had,monkey bars, swings, a slide, balancing beam and a carousel. It was really fun and beside the park there was a little store and the camp site had a ping pong table and a pool table, so we played.

We went to Macs Seafood four times. I had buffalo wings with Hawaiian barbeque sauce and pasta. We had a lot of friends there and we saw a lot of them. We went to all beaches a lot and I really liked it because of the weather and sand.

I liked one beach the most because of its clear water, nice sand and weather. We lived in area four and everything was in area one,  so we had to walk to do anything but that was fine.

We went into P Town and that was fun. We got so much candy, and slushies and we went to all these cool stores. I even got some clothes. After that we kept camping and then went home. I had a lot of fun this summer.

Buddies By Josephine

I go to PDS and we do a lot of fun activities and challenges. One thing that we do here is called buddies. Buddies is a program that lets us hang out with the kids in the lower school. We are in 6th grade and are working with the pre-k and k and it is really fun and cute. It helps a lot of people who are not the best at working with kids better. I really like this program and today was our first day.

My buddie is a little 4 year old girl named Gia. She is really cute and I had a lot of fun with her. When we got into the room we all sat in a circle and said our names and our favorite ice cream. I said, “Josephine and chocolate.” I sat down next to Anna and Jane and I hung out with a little girl named Gia. She showed Jane, Anna and I some of her projects and we just talked. Then again we sat in a circle and were assigned our buddies. I got Gia and I was happy because she is so cute and a lot of fun to hang out with.

After getting assigned our buddies we took a picture with them, then we went outside to play. We played at the swings, and in the trees we found fairy dust-sand. Then Matthew joined our group, so after that we played Duck, Duck, Goose and Hide and Go seek and other games. So we really got to know each other and I had a really good experience today with my buddies
