Blogging Challenge Week #5 Activity #1

My family  is from a country called Pakistan ( except we  live in America). In Pakistan we eat a lot of different foods that are all very spicy because we like to eat spicy food. (My grandma is from there and makes Pakistani food). The food we eat is very similar to indian food. Anyway, some things that we eat are,  Naan or  roti , which is a type of bread. Naan is more  soft and fluffy while roti is more dry.(I like naan better). We eat this with chicken or Kebab ( which is basically meat either round or long). They taste like  meat with a lot of spice ( but it usually depends on how the person makes it. I personally like both,( I’m a meat eater). We also eat brown rice or white rice with chicken or lamb.  Chicken from my country is spicy ,and very delicious. I don’t really like lamb though. For dessert we have a lot of things. I don’t really like Pakistani desserts that much but a lot of people do. Anyway, the things that are mostly popular , are Gulab Jamaan which are  milky balls dipped into syrup. We also eat Kulfi which is dessert based on milk. Ras Malai which is also based off of milk but is more liquidy. Barfi which comes in square shape. All of these desserts mostly taste sweet. Anyway, these are just some of the things we eat  from Pakistan.

Statistics From Child Help

Child Abuse in the United States

Child abuse in America is a national problem that affects more than 6 million children each year. The U.S has some of the worst records in the world for children dying at the hands of their abusers. Between 4-7 children die every day because of abuse or neglect.

There are many forms of child abuse. The most common is neglect. Physical abuse is the next most common form. Another horrific form of abuse is sexual. Then, of course there is psychological abuse. Last but not least medical neglect.

The Consequences to children who survive abuse are horrible. They are more likely to experience teen pregnancy, abuse drugs and alcohol and then become abusers themselves.

In order to put a stop to child abuse we need to educate people. Show people how cruel and inhumane it is. We are all born with the right to be free and not to be abused and suffer.

Edublogs Challenge #5: Human Rights ~ Bullying

Bullying is a very serious problem around the world. Bullying is when one person (or many people) do something to be mean to a particular person or group. There are many different forms of bullying: Cyber bullying, insulting someone, tormenting someone, teasing, etc. Some people get bullied so bad that they commit suicide (there have been millions of suicides because of bullying). Racism also plays a pretty big role in bullying. For example, someone may get bullied just because they’re black or because they’re Asian. Another common victim of bullies are small/skinny people or “nerds.” The main reason these types of people are bullied is because of their size.

Bullies think because these people are small, they’re easy targets. Bullies will also bully someone out of insecurity. Basically, the bully will do anything they can to make a person feel bad. These are just acts of desperation by the bully. They want so bad to be better than another person that they try everything possible to make themselves feel like they’re better than this person/victim. Sometimes people will pick on someone

Nobody, black, white, Asian, or Latino, should be bullied. Every human has the right to be treated the right way.

This seems to be a strange coincidence, but October (this month) happens to be Bullying prevention month. To learn more about bullying and help to stop it visit this link: http://tinyurl.com/45crwl7
