Imagination Day by Andrew

Imagination Day was a lot of fun because we got to teach each other and have a lot of fun. I want our school to do it again. The student teachers were nice and the activities were all really fun and interesting. You have to let the student teachers have a good amount of time to prepare or the activities would be boring and awkward. I learned how to devil stick and that building birdhouses take a long time. We had to paint the birdhouses because it would take too long to build them. My school really needs to do this again but have more activities and more time.

What makes a good teacher? By Andrew

To be a great teacher having these traits will make life easy…. A teacher must be nice, kind, and caring. Kids will have problems, so teachers must find out exactly what happened before anything can be done. Teachers have to have a sense of humor but also know when to be serious or when a joke has gone to far. A great teacher would never choose favorites. The most important thing a teacher would need is a way to make lessons fun!!!

Posting with CC photos by Andrew

Posting with photos is fun but you have to be careful. If you take a photo off the Internet make sure it’s not copyrighted or that you have permission to use it. If you take a photo off the Internet without permission you can be fined. The good part about taking photos off the Internet is it makes whatever you are talking about easier to understand and there are sites that you can look at, that are specifically for usable-copyrighted photos.

Copyrighted means someone owns that photo, slogan, or name. Good sites to find pictures are CC sites. This is Creative Commons that allows you to use their pictures. It depends on the CC on what you can do with the photo, slogan, or name. It is ok to use them, but you can’t change them, or do anything with them. If you don’t get permission you could get fined a lot of money depending on the copyright.

Ramapo by Andrew

Dear Ramapo Staff,

I had a great time on my visit to Ramapo. The games were active, fun and also very challenging. My favorite part was the low ropes challenge. We had to get everyone onto little platforms in a correct number order like two on one and six on the other one. The other part of the low ropes course was the log shuffle. You had to start at one end and go to the other depending on the order called out like oldest to youngest.

The high ropes challenge was painfull and awful. I had to pull and push one of my team mates up on to the bar. He knocked me off and made my knees feel like Jell-O after he had knocked me off and made me push him up.

Last year’s lunch was great just like this one. The high ropes was too hard to climb I wish we got to go the rock climbing wall. I couldn’t do it. It was fun at Ramapo thanks for having us. I won’t forget this trip ever it was fun I wish I could come back again.

Australia by Andrew

My trip to Australia

On my two week trip to Australia, I went to some amazing places. I went to an aquarium on the first day in Brisbane and it was amazing as it had a shark tunnel that went under water. Giant shark skeletons hung from the ceiling. The next day we had to drive for three hours to get to our next hotel where we would stay before our trip to the Great Barrier reef.
The day before the Great Barrier Reef, we got a day of relaxation at a four star hotel and at night we watched a movie all together on the beach. We went on a hour boat ride to get to the Great Barrier Reef and five too many people got sick in our group. At the Great Barrier Reef we got to go in a mini sub and go quite deep. When we went snorkeling there was a black tipped reef shark in the water with us.
When we went to the farm out in Brisbane we got to ride on horses and climb a 5,000 foot mountain. Later that day we bought whips and got lessons on how to use them. After the stay at the farm we went to a natural cave and the guides played a prank on us. They told us there were mosquito’s that went inside your nose and bit you and made your nose puff up and be all red and gross so we had to put veggie-mite under our noses and trust me its gross. In all the trip was great and I would love to go back and if your looking for a place to vacation go to Australia.

Paint It Black

Paint It Black
Paint It Black

We join little Sally Smith. She is a girl who loves dolls, playing sick pranks, and anything pink. Sally was walking home from school one day with her parents when they passed a garage sale in front of an old, cursed house. She spotted a bunch of pink paint, nail polish, and dye next to a doll in all black, with black painted nails. She asked her parents to buy the pink paint, nail polish and dye because Sally really loves pink. The woman running the sale said nervously, “That comes with the doll free,” as she glancing around.

At home, Sally decided to turn the doll pink. After a while, it was time to go to bed. Sally heard a clicking in the hall. She thought it was her brother and he is a mad scientist. When she went to check it out there was the doll sitting there… back to the way it was all in black. Sally got the shock of her life when the doll spoke, “I stay painted black your family stays alive, paint me pink your dad dies.”
She screamed and fainted. When she woke up she was in bed and quickly thought that it was a nightmare and found the doll painted pink.
This went on over and over until the the last day of the month. When Sally woke up she found the doll painted red but soon realized this was blood. The doll let out a blood curdling scream and yelled, “Now your family is dead and soon so shall you, but first… Happy Halloween,” the doll shouted out in her brothers’ voice. Then, he and her family burst into the room holding a giant bag of candy and dumped it on her and her bed.

Lunch time

Lunch time

The new lunch program is okay. The service is great with lines moving fast and payment is easy. To pay all you have to do is scan your finger and you’re done. The food is so so as it’s not cooked enough and plain. The soup is spicy hot. Water is all you can drink if you didn’t sign up for milk. Sadly there is no salt, pepper and ketchup, only on Wednesday.

Summer Fun

Over the summer I went to Australia with the organization, People to People. We traveled all over the coast and to some islands. An area of the Great Barrier Coral Reef we visited  was extremely colorful and dangerous. In parts of the reef for a couple of hours it’s at  least 2 feet out of the water at low tide. At the Australia Zoo, I got to pet a kangaroo and feed one.
When we were in North Carolina, I went to the zoo, a play ground, and Chucky Cheese with my nephew.
